On Thursday, December 1, 2016, the Chamber held the official Christmas Tree Lighting, which took place this year in Douglass Park in Luverne.  The event started at 6:30, entertainment by various choirs and individuals and the countdown to lighting took place.  Hot chocolate and Sister Schuberts Homemade cinnamon rolls were served and even though the weather was not perfect, everyone had a wonderful time.  Children from all schools were invited to come and decorate an ornament at the event and hang them on the tree.  The Belles and Beaus assisted the children and finished decorating the tree, which will stand throughout the holiday season.
